FA Cup

The 2010 FA Cup Final will be played on 15th May 2010 at Wembley Stadium.

This year’s renewal will be the 129th final and the 4th at the new Wembley Stadium, having been played at the Millennium Stadium from 2001-2006.

The FA Cup has been dominated by the ‘Big Four’ clubs of Manchester United, Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal in recent years. Twenty of the last 23 winners have come from these clubs, though in 2008 Portsmouth managed to break a run of 12 successive Big Four winners. There have, however, been several surprise finalists in recent years, with the likes of Southampton (2003), Millwall (2004) and Cardiff City (2008) all losing to bigger sides in the final.

There are several key betting trends to note for the FA Cup Final, most notably the high proportion of low scoring encounters. Since 1995, 11 of the last 15 FA Cup Finals have featured 2 goals or less, while 4 of the last 7 have ended either 1-0 or 0-0.
